A handheld remote control can easily be retrofitted into your existing ceiling fan but you must remember one important thing—no matter how expert you are, always turn off the electricity!! After that, it’s easy to get into the fan body and connect the wires from the kit’s receiver to the ones coming from the ceiling.

There are many types of ceiling fan remote control units from the simple ones that can turn it on and change the speed to ones that let you set a timer or allow you to control the temperature of the air! They range in price from below $25 to over $100, depending on the features you want your unit to include. If you want to retrofit an existing ceiling fan, be sure that the remote control unit is compatible with your fan.
